Labour for PR Delegates Briefing

  • Curry Leaf Cafe, 60 Ship Street, Brighton, BN1 1AE (map)

Delegates and attendees of the Labour Party conference are invited to join this delegates briefing, organised by Make Votes Matter and the Labour Campaign for Electoral Reform.

At least three CLPs have sent motions to Labour’s 2019 conference calling for Proportional Representation. This is just the tip of the ice-berg: 73 CLPs have sent motions on PR to the National Policy Forum in the last couple of years - while two affiliated trade unions and a third of Labour MPs are in favour.

This briefing will focus on the opportunities we have this conference to raise electoral reform from the conference floor as effectively as possible. LCER and MVM organisers will talk through the priorities ballot, compositing, reference back, and linking electoral reform to other issues during debates. It will be an opportunity to meet delegates, members and elected representatives from around the country who believe we need to change the voting system.

Food, refreshments and goody-bags provided.
