Changing the System: Reforming our Democracy (Lancaster)

  • Friends Meeting House Meeting House Lane Lancaster, LA1 1TX (map)

Fed up with getting a majority government supported by only a quarter of the electorate?  Would you like to see a fairer electoral system, where you can vote for what you believe in and the outcome reflects people’s votes?  Do you think there is too much power in London?  Should we continue to have an un-elected House of Lords?

Come and discuss what is right or wrong with the system by which we are governed and how we might change it, with speakers from Lancaster University, the Electoral Reform Society, Make Votes Matter, Campaign for the North and MP for Lancaster, Cat Smith.

Speakers:

  • Professor David Denver, Lancaster University
  • Rob Telford, Electoral Reform Society
  • Harold Elletson, Chairman of Campaign for the North
  • Cat Smith, MP for Lancaster and Fleetwood
  • Klina Jordan, Make Votes Matter

Refreshments available after the discussion. All welcome. Register to let the organisers know you are coming, or just turn up.
